Welcome to Filton Avenue Nursery School and Children's Centre.

We are a Locally Managed Children's Centre  for 0-4 year olds based in the north of Bristol. We are funded by Bristol City Council.

Originally a nursery school, the building was opened the day before the outbreak of the Second World War. We provide free high quality early years education and care for children who are 3 and 4 years old with some free places for the under 3's. We also run sessions for parents/carers and their babies and toddlers in our family  room as well as a range of courses and advice sessions for parents and families.

Our staff all have either a teaching or nursery nurse qualification or are working whilst training.

The school building has recently been modernised and our community facilities extended. Our extensive garden is used fully all year round and is currently being developed to extend the opportunities for learning outside.

We have three classes in our school, Acorns is our new under 3's area with a separate outside space. Willow Room and Beech Room for the 3-4 year olds are where we welcome a total of 140 children each day. The nursery children are offered 1 full day  with either 4 mornings or 4 afternnoons per week - in the morning from 9.00 to 11.30 and  in the afternoon from 12.45 to 3.15.

You may register your child for a nursery place a soon as they are two. Children start nursery in the September after their third birthday.

We are able to offer paid childcare for babies and children aged 0 - 5 years old. This is available 50 weeks a year, Monday to Friday 8.00am until 5.45pm.
